Intensive Teachers
Each Intensive draws upon a distinct constellation of teachers depending on the topics of the course. Below are some of the teachers we have had the pleasure to work with in the and who likely will teach in upcoming courses.
KINO MACGREGOR
Kino MacGregor and her husband Tim Feldmann are the owners and founders of Miami Life Center. After spending a major portion of her life actively engaged in deep personal growth work, she returned to Miami to create a space dedicated to the integration of yoga, holistic health, consciousness and community. Kino has created four Ashtanga Yoga DVDs and has published three books. Her clothing line Om Stars launched in 2016.
She is one of a select few people to receive the Certification to teach Ashtanga Yoga by its founder Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India. Perhaps the youngest woman to hold this title, she completed the challenging Fourth Series with Guruji and Sharath. Traveling internationally, she leads classes, privates, workshops and retreats in the traditional spiritual path of Ashtanga Yoga.
Kino is dedicated to sharing the amazing tradition of Ashtanga Yoga with its growing number of practitioners. She holds a Master’s Degree from New York University and integrates her commitment to consciousness and empowerment with her yoga teaching. In her unique, inspirational and playful approach, Kino helps her students expand and deepen their understanding of yoga and life.
TIM FELDMANN
Co-Owner and Co-Founder of Miami Life Center, Tim Feldmann is Authorized to teach directly by the founder of the Ashtanga Yoga Method, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, and his grandson, Sharath Rangaswami. He was set on the yoga path by his teacher Lino Miele. A practioner of the third series he is dedicated to Ashtanga Yogas traditional style. Tim is of the firm belief that the regular practice of Ashtanga yoga is the true teaching/teacher. His teaching integrates extensive study of Alexander Technique and sitting meditation with 20 years of experience as a professional dancer and an internationally acclaimed choreographer. His in-depth knowledge of functional anatomy, alignment as well as the idiosyncratic body and mind in stillness and in motion creates the platform upon which his solid understanding of the Ashtanga method rests. Tim emphazisizes the Ashtanga basics – breathing, bandhas and gaze – as the primary means to help students connect with their own practice and inner truth.
Tim is a cherished teacher giving workshops, classes and privates throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas, often together with his love Kino.
CHASE BOSSART
Chase teaches the Bhagavada Gita to our Ashtanga Intensive students. Using an interactive approach, he brings in a real world application to this ancient philosophical text.
“All of the training I have received in Yoga has been in the lineage of Śri T. Krishnamacharya as passed on to his son Mr. TKV Desikachar. In total, I have spent more than 4 years in Chennai studying one-on-one with Mr. Desikachar and his wife Menaka (Vedic Chanting), observing therapeutic classes at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram (KYM) and participating in group trainings by his son Kausthub and other long time students of Mr. Desikachar. It is impossible to put into words the immense gratitude I feel for them and for what I have received from them. In particular, I am deeply indebted to Mr. TKV Desikachar for the incredible personal care, kindness, dedication and skill that he put into my development as a person and as a teacher. Since 2003, yoga teaching has been my sole occupation. Though I live just North of San Francisco in Marin County, I travel frequently to give workshops and trainings on a wide array of yoga and yoga therapy topics. As as student and teacher, I am particularly drawn to the teachings of Patañjali’s Yogasūtra, meditation, prāṇāyāma and the therapeutic application of yoga therapy. And I absolutely love to lead experiential workshops that demonstrate yoga philosophy’s practical applications in daily life. I think of my teaching style as a warm, funny and engaging (with lots of practical examples) that (hopefully) appeals to every level of yoga practitioner from beginner to advanced. Śrī gurubhyo namaḥ! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”

JESUS CABALLERO
Jesus teaches an introduction to Ayurveda during our Ashtanga Intensive. He strives to present another side of life that many people are not much aware of: That life has to be lived as it comes but with full awareness of what is happening all the time. This means there is really not much that needs to be done in terms of accomplishing or changing, it is more a matter of realizing what is really occurring in the big picture, away from our daily personal dramas, unfounded fears, and outlandish desires. It is about continuous awareness, inner reflection, detached observation, sharp discrimination, and some silence. It is about flowing away from safe harbors and into the open ocean of consciousness. He strives to live life according to Mindfulness, which is basically what he share during his healing sessions and workshops. That is what he feels is truly important. And that is pretty much it. The rest is your own experience, which is the only important thing in a healing session or class.

EDDY RIVERO
Eddy teaches traditional vinyasa counting in our Ashtanga Intensive. He is an Authorized Level I Ashtanga Yoga teacher. He has practiced with the living Guru of Ashtanga yoga, R. Sharath Jois and says “I love and respect all of my teachers back home dearly, but no training can compare to going to the source of the lineage and experiencing the practice in its purest form.” Eddy has been to KPJAYI three times to practice with Sharath, and was authorized in 2016.
Eddy teaches the evening Mysore program at MLC. He firmly believes that in order for the practice to take full effect, the student must cultivate a balance between “focused effort”(Tapas) and the “discriminative wisdom”(Viveka Khyatih) to know when to surrender. Come discover Eddy’s gentle teaching style weekday evenings and Sunday mornings at MLC.
EMILIA ARENAS
Emilia Arenas believes yoga is a long journey that needs to be taken with love, dispassion and relentless discipline. Years ago, while searching for a connecting path to a more calm and spiritual lifestyle, Emilia was fortunate to have her mother take her to a yoga class. Soon afterwards yoga became not only the direct conversation that she was seeking but also a gateway to a wholesome lifestyle and more compassionate approach to herself and others.
After years of teaching Emilia fulfilled her long-awaited dream of visiting Mysore, India where she studied under the supervision of R. Sharath Jois. Emilia teaches the morning Mysore program and is a devoted teacher at Miami Life Center.
EDWIN BRYANT
Edwin Bryant received his Ph.D in Indic languages and Cultures from Columbia University.
As a personal practitioner of bhakti yoga for over 40 years, a number of them spent in India studying with traditional teachers, where he returns yearly, Edwin strives to combine academic scholarship and rigor with appreciation towards traditional knowledge systems. His teaching method is to allow the ancient texts to speak in their own voice and through their own terms and categories. In addition to his academic course load, Edwin currently teaches weekend workshops on the Yoga Sūtras, Bhagavad Gītā, and Hindu Philosophy at yoga studios and teacher training courses throughout the country.
Edwin’s translation of and commentary on the Yoga Sūtras of Patañjali (Farrar, Straus & Giroux, 2009) is specifically dedicated to contributing to the growing body of literature on yoga by providing insights from the major pre-modern commentaries on the text with a view to grounding the teachings in their traditional context. Edwin’s most recent published work is a sequel to this by the same publisher entitled Bhakti Yoga: Tales and Teachings from the Bhāgavata Purāṇa (Farrar, Straus & Giroux, 2017). This work, too, seeks to ground the practices of bhakti in the traditional Krishna-centered framework of the Vrindavan devotional traditions.
